Tournament Format: TopContender Team

The Decatur Makers Topgolf Fundraiser uses Topgolf’s TopContender Team format, designed to be inclusive, social, and fun for golfers of all experience levels.

How It Works

• Players are grouped into teams

• Teams take turns hitting golf balls from their bay

• On each ball, the highest-scoring shot counts as the team’s score

• This format rewards teamwork and keeps everyone engaged

Scoring & Targets

• Points are earned by hitting colored targets on the field

• Yellow, Green, Brown, Blue, and White targets offer standard scoring

• Successfully hitting certain targets earns double points (2×)

• Some targets offer hole-in-one bonus points

Bonus Ball

• Each team’s 20th ball is a Bonus Ball

• Hitting designated targets on the Bonus Ball earns triple points (3×)
