About Us
It all began in 2012 with a small group of people who envisioned a diverse community and welcoming place where people of all ages could work together to make things.

Our vibrant community welcomes makers from ages 5 to 105, including artists, engineers, woodworkers, crafters, and more. We bring together hobbyists and professionals to create and learn in a supportive environment where everyone, regardless of background or experience, feels welcome. To ensure accessibility, we keep membership fees low, offer needs-based scholarships, and provide many public programs.
Located in downtown Decatur, our 2,500-square-foot space features a woodshop, electronics lab, biolab, textiles area, 3D printers, laser cutters, and more. We offer memberships, public classes, free community events, youth STEAM programs, teacher development, and collaborative problem-solving with local partners.
