Introduction to Metal Fabrication
This is an introduction to Welding and Steel Fabrication. In this class we will cover the GMAW (MiG) Welder, the Plasma Cutter and the Angler Grinder. During the class, members will have the chance to ask questions, demonstrate the safe hands-on use of each of these tools, and at the end be checked off to use these tools. This class is 18+.
Metal Lathe 101
Metal Lathe 101 provides members with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience operating our Grizzly G4000 hobby lathe, as well as related metalworking equipment including the drill press, bandsaw, and grinder.
Participants will create a metal scribe for marking metal surfaces while learning foundational metalworking and lathe operations. Topics covered include safety procedures, tooling basics, facing, turning, drilling, internal and external threading using taps and dies, and safe operation of the drill press, bandsaw, and grinder.
