Decatur Makers offers a wide variety of hands-on classes where community makers share their skills. From woodworking and 3D printing to textiles, electronics, and digital design, our workshops give participants the chance to learn by doing in a supportive, inclusive environment. New classes are added often—so whether you want to build a project, explore a new tool, or develop design skills, there’s always something fresh on the calendar. We also offer personalized 1-on-1 coaching, giving makers of all levels the chance to get tailored guidance on projects, tools, or techniques.

At Decatur Makers, classes are accessible, practical, and fun—taught by community makers who share their real-world skills and creative passion. With hands-on learning in a fully equipped makerspace, small class sizes, and options for both beginners and advanced makers, everyone can find a place to learn and create. New offerings are added often, from quick evening workshops to multi-session deep dives, giving you the chance to explore, experiment, and leave with new skills and a finished project.

Our coaching program is a new way to get personalized support at Decatur Makers. Whether you’re stuck on a project, want to master a tool, or prefer one-on-one learning, coaching connects you with an experienced maker who can guide you step by step. Sessions are flexible and tailored to your goals, and as we build up this program, we’re excited to offer more options for makers at every level.
